Traditional Troyan Bulgarian jug

A small traditional Bulgarian Troyan ceramic jug with peacock eyes glaze. It has a 'Made in Bulgaria' stick on the bottom, see photos. It would be a great little jug for a vinagertte or olive oil.

Troyan is a town in Bulgaria, about 160 kilometres northeast of Sofia, founded in 1868 and quickly became a centre for crafts making. The Troyan style began to evolve in the 19th century based on Thracian and Slavic designs. Traditionally, the pottery was painted by the village women, each woman having her signature design.
