Our story

Nicki Sophia is an online collection of unique and appealing pieces for the home, run by me, Nicki. The items are mostly vintage but there are some antiques and some newer things, too.

Nicki Sophia was born out of a promise I made to myself five years ago. I promised myself I would only buy secondhand, including: clothes, shoes, homeware, and just about everything else I could get away with!

I realised that buying secondhand didn't mean sacrificing quality, character, or beauty; it was quite the opposite. I found myself wearing really lovely clothes that I wasn't seeing on other people, shoes that withstood the trends, and I furnished and decorated my home in Barcelona with beautiful pieces I had never seen in anyone else's. I had stumbled upon a world of unique items.

Friends and family began requesting that I take them on sourcing trips and using my eye to pick out steals they might not otherwise spot. I realised that seeing beauty in the overlooked was a skill and I decided to turn my eye into a business and created Nicki Sophia.

The objects

Everything you see on Nicki Sophia has been previously owned. They are totally beautiful and rare pieces; you're unlikely to find them in anyone else's home. I only source pieces in great condition, but since they have had a previous life, some may show little signs of wear; I believe this only adds to their charm and character. These objects will come into your life with their own past stories, ready to write a new one with you. I hope you love them as much as I do.

Buying secondhand

Buying secondhand is one of the best things we can all do for our planet. It reduces the demand for new products, which, in turn, reduces the need for raw materials and energy for production. This helps conserve our precious resources and decreases the environmental impact caused by manufacturing, transportation, and packaging. In a world drowning in new things, buying secondhand dramatically reduces waste. You can have a beautiful, elegant and stylish home without damaging your bank account, or the planet.
